5:00pm
Shopping at American Vintage for evening wear. I bought some of the loveliest items, which I'll share in a future post!

7:00pm
Flower browsing at the market. We also picked up ingredients for our elaborate breakfast the next morning, and champagne!

9:00pm
We ate one of our favorite pizzas with sun-dried tomatoes, basil, parmesan and garlic. To drink we had a Mexican favorite, Tamarind Soda.

10:00pm
We painted our nails in anticipation of Vanessa's graduation the next day and then watched a movie! I chose light-purple glitter polish.

12:00am
At midnight, it was time for peach champagne with raspberries. Then we worked on a playlist for our summer party on Saturday.

2:00am
We stayed up quite late talking about many things, and then at one point we made s'mores with burnt marshmallows.

11:00am
The next morning we made crepes and put out our favorite breakfast items like French bread with apricot jam.

12:00pm
Breakfast was long and leisurely. Our crepes had lemon curd, powdered sugar and berries on top. Coffee was perfection too! Then I went home and rested before Vanessa's graduation. She had been going to college on and off for nearly twelve years while working full time. We were anxiously waiting for this moment for a long time and I'm so glad it happened!

5:00pm
Twenty-four hours after we first started our girl's day, Vanessa became a graduate. Believe it or not, our day continued into the night with even more celebration meals and so on. It has been a busy time but the good kind of busy! x

This looks so great!
ReplyDeleteIt was certainly a lovely day! x
DeleteThis post is a feast for the eyes! I hope you bought the dress in the top pic, it is amazing. Congratulations to your sister too.
ReplyDeleteOh I wish Paula! It was quite pricey in the triple digits, and I was looking for something with more detail- which I amazingly found. Thank you, I'll let her know! x
DeleteLooked like heaps of fun, love the photo journal style as well.
ReplyDeleteI'm probably way overdue for a girls night myself :)

We were celebrating the end of our school season so we decided to go all out. Thank you, I figured it was the easiest way to explain everything we did hehe :)
DeleteHaving recounted this story to a few people already, I know how crazy/fun our day was! Seeing the photos was awesome. We surely made up for the fact that we hadn't had a slumber party before :) And we even had facials(no photos thank god)! Thanks for being there on my big day and so nice you mentioned it on your blog :) xx
ReplyDeleteIt was such a good night, thanks for hosting me. The crepes and endless meals were awesome. Sometimes a girl needs a break from her guy to do whatever she wants, including facials. Look forward to our next one! :)
DeleteLove your blog!:D
ReplyDeleteMerci x
DeleteWhat an eventful day! Sigh.. every moment was captured so gorgeously, Val. Congrats to your beautiful sister as well <3
ReplyDeleteIt was quite eventful and we enjoyed every minute :) Thank you Sue! x
DeleteThis looks like such a nice way to spend 24 hours. Congrats to Vanessa on graduating!
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are lovely. I especially like the look of that food ;)
Thank you Jane! I always appreciate food above most things, it can make an evening amazing or dull hehe x
DeleteFirst of all, congrats to Vanessa for graduating! And second of all, your photos are amazing as per usual :) What a lovely way to spend some time!
ReplyDeleteThank you, it was a first for us but we'd like to do it again :)
DeleteCongrats to Vanessa!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a real fun night- with Jarritos, how could you not? (I love that soda!) And french bread for breakfast is joy, pure and blissful joy. :)
Yay, someone else loves Jarritos too! My favorite flavor is Tamarindo but the others are delicious as well x
DeleteThis post is so lovely! It's fun to have a girls' night every once in a while like this. Peach champagne with raspberries sounds absolutely delicious as well. Congratulations to Vanessa! That's quite a feat, completing college whilst working full time on the side.
ReplyDeleteIt is quite the feat! I've been on the same route, except I'm going for two degrees, and it takes much longer than you originally plan for. The point is to keep going until you get there though...sigh. Thank you Emily :)
DeleteThis sounds so much fun! I haven't had a sleepover in years but oh I really want one now!
ReplyDeleteI really recommend it! We had never done anything like this, but now we're planning for another one at my house! x
DeleteGirly sleepovers are the best - I'm now desperately craving one! <3 and can't wait to see your vintage finds either!

They are! We also did facials, but that was before I saw your delicious strawberry face mask. Will have to try it out! x
DeleteAw you guys look super cute, congrats to Vanessa! I wish I had a sister like you to do such fun stuff. You're always shopping for the cutest dresses, eating the most delicious food... Sister envy XD
ReplyDeleteAww, well she's moving to England in August so we only have limited time together. That's why we're doing so many girly things lately :)
DeleteCongrats to Vanessa for graduating, looks like you had a lot of (very pretty) fun. Want some peach champagne with raspberries now.
ReplyDeleteThank you! x
DeleteThese pics all look so nice! I always love slumber-parties. And congrats to your friend for graduating!!
ReplyDeletexoxo Sootjeelina
uh, i'm totally crashing the next one. this is NOTHING like my slumber parties- we usually just watch sixteen candles and eat greasy pizza while talking about boys. you had flippin pink champagne! haha this post was so cute, congrats to your friend!! :))
ReplyDeleteHaha we actually saw some random romantic comedy, talked about boys and the pizza was a little greasy :D We love a slumber party that way, but I suppose the photos make it seem more fancy than that :D
DeleteThis is such a great idea for a post! And your blog is lovely!
ReplyDeleteAw, sounds amazing. And the photos are nice too! Congratulations on Vanessa!
ReplyDeleteThat champagne + raspberries look really good to me.
Thanks Louise! Putting raspberries on anything makes it automatically delicious :)
DeleteI just found your blog and I love it.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like my dream day!
Oh, and 12 YEARS of college?! That's quite an achievement never mind with a full time job too.
